The Lena B Story
Let me introduce myself…my name is Marissa Chapman Kopke and I am the face of Lena B. At a very young age, I decided that I either wanted to be an interior designer or a veterinarian (I know, I know…you can’t get much different). I knew I didn’t have the stomach for all that was involved in being a veterinarian, so I ended up receiving an Interior Design degree from Colorado State University. After designing and selling kitchens for over 15 years, it was time to make a change and leave the world of design behind (of course, I still dabble – you can’t take the designer out of me completely).
As you can tell from the story above, I have also always had a deep love for animals. I love mine like they are my children. I am actively involved with HoBo Care Boxer Rescue in Denver, and currently have 2 white boxers that were rescued – Beaumont and Lucille. In late 2010, the opportunity to pursue my passion for animals arose when I saw an ad for a pet products rep. I applied, interviewed, was offered and accepted the position and jumped right in, head first. After a year and a half of working for someone else, I took a leap of faith and started my own business. I have a very strong belief in customer service and creating relationships and believed that I could only do this better on my own. That’s when Lena B was born. Fast forward 4 years – the addition ‘& Company’ to Lena B happened when we added so many wonderful cards & gifts to our portfolio and a team of amazing reps to help spread the love.
Oh, and for those of you that are wondering about the name…Lena was my grandmother’s name and the B stands for Bonnie, my mother. These are the two most amazing women that I have ever known and have helped shape every ounce of me. I decided that there was nothing better than to name a company that I believe in so strongly after them.
